Why, then, must God (or some other intelligent source) a priori be ruled out as the source of the order we measure in the universe -- the complex informational coding of DNA, the gravitational laws of Newton / Einstein, the orderliness of the elements in the periodic table, and the like?
These can easily be explained:
Gravity, physical laws etc - they have to work as they do otherwise the universe couldnt have come into existence, if gravity was a different value the big bang would never have materialised into anything. Why assume there is one universe? There have likely been multiple universes, most failing, ours works because the variables were correct. So by defination, they just work, else it wouldnt be here.
DNA evolved very slowly over time, nothing miraculous about it. No more miraculous than the technology we have today which also evolved (albeit near-infititely quicker than natural technology)

It's awfully enslaving (may you all have peace!)... because in one place it (the Bible) says this and in another it (the Bible) says that. How does one know which is RIGHT? Many (including yours truly, at one time) look to religion for the answers, unfortunately, and so are grossly misled. Having the "law" written on one's heart, however, dispenses with the need for that digest... and religion. Sadly, not all have the confidence... or faith... to dispense with either.

i remember reading a while back about someone on here ( i think) that wrote a letter to the body of elders & headoffice that they should not take any action to disfellowship them as they would be distancing them from friends and relatives and would proceed to take legal action if the body of elders went ahead.. if anyone has that link or can point me in the right direction i'd appreciate that..

Just wanted to drop you a very short email to say thanks to you and your production team for your piece on Nathan Phillips. I'm also an ex-Jehovah's Witness and was really grateful that there was some exposure on the reality of the Jehovah's Witness cult. Unfortunately Nathan's story is hugely common around the UK and the world. Hopefully your interview will help demonstrate to the public how dangerous and abusive the religion is and how it tears so many families apart (mine included). It would be great if there was more exposure on a national level of stories like these. Many thanks, Zombie -

leaving wt - you are by no means ugly. Your hair is awful though, get a modern/trendy hair cut, maybe a bit shorter, textured with some wax or putty, grow some 'designer stubble' (most guys look awful clean shaven, stubble is men's 'makeup') and tone up at the gym and you'd be a really good looking chap

DA Letter Script - Minimum Requirements?
by alias inif i am to write and send the minimal of a da letter, stating that i do not consider myself a jw (baptized as a minor), what do i need to include in the letter to make it valid?
1. who should the letter be addressed to?
(do i need to send duplicates: one to local cong, one to headquarters?).

Apparently you need to sign it too, mine was sent back because I didn't sign it. Seems silly though as any other contract (utility bills etc.) you don't need go sign to end. As far as I was concerned it was a valid letter, but they might send yours back also if not signed.
